Day 1 - Breaking Out of Hospital

Its easy enough to get into Hospital but I discovered its a bit more tricky getting out!
I had done a few days in intensive care but now I was down on a ward pacing around like a restless Bengal Tiger. I was up and about and generally feeling a whole lot better and although i was being well cared for, there are some obvious downsides to being in Hospital. The first one is lack of sleep. So much going on, drips every 6 hours for me, vital signs being measured, people coming and going. No wonder I wasnt sleeping much at all. The air quality on the ward seemed a bit iffy too, plus artificial light enough to wilt even the strongest pot plant. I felt I would do better if I could get home and get deep rest, good sleep and of course the very best nutrition i could come up with.
It became clear that the doctors were happy with how i was presenting but didn't like my blood numbers. The antibiotics I was on were preventing things getting out of hand but I needed to rally, get things handled and demonstrate that in my blood numbers.
I used a few yoga techniques to accelerate my progress.
1) I used a breathing technique called Anuloma Viloma, not totally dissimilar from Alternate Nostril Breathing. This has the effect of energising your immune system as part of a whole raft of benefits.
2) My right arm was full of lymph associated with the cellulitis, on a side ward I was elevating the arm whilst palpating the back of the tricep area on that arm, then lying down with my legs up a wall which is technique to increase lymphatic drainage. This produced very rapid improvement.
It also alarmed the nurses! One nurse caught a glimpse of my red ward socks heading skywards and panicked "Oh no patient down!" I was able to quickly explain what I was doing and she promptly reappeared with something akin to a thick yoga mat, chuckling about the misunderstanding :-)
3) Most woo woo of all is Sun Gazing, Sun Eating or Surya Yoga. I was able to to walk and sit on a bench beside the hospital and gaze directly into the sun whilst blinking. This felt incredibly powerful, the metaphor would be if your Iphone battery was at 3% and you managed to charge it up to even 8% thats a really noticeable improvement. I felt like a Sunflower powering up again and lifting his head.
One of the reflections from the whole experience is that yoga techniques really reveal their potency when you are sick as a parrot!
After a couple of days of this I hit the target blood numbers and like a champagne cork coming out of a bottle I was in a taxi on my way home
Lets call this Day 1 for me of 100 days to Healthy
In case you didnt notice this site is called 100daystohealthy.rocks. I think we need a little Thin Lizzy to close this post :-) .....
